Could You Benefit from a Tumble Dryer?

Could You Benefit from a Tumble Dryer?

Let’s face it, in the UK, we aren’t known for our fabulous weather and summertimes. And with our ultimately busy schedules, a family to look after, the tea to cook, the lawn to mow, the cat to feed, and so on, work can seem endless. So how can the humble tumble dryer take some of the stress out of this tiresome list?

1. Health and Hygiene

Do you ever get to the stage where you have underwear on the staircase rail? Are socks on the top of the TV? Or bed sheets hanging on doors? With a larger household, this can certainly be the case and depending on how long you’ve put the washing off, this can be a big issue even for a single household. According to research, it can also pose a health risk, especially for those with allergies, asthma or even hay fever, as the drying clothes raise the moisture levels in your home. In addition, excess moisture can cause mould and mildew to occur, which can even increase health problems.

However, this issue is minimised with tumble dryers as the moisture can be collected in a storage tank or even expelled through the plumbing if you choose an integrated tumble dryer. Also, some top-of-the-range dryers can help kill off any bacteria on the clothes, which may not have been tackled due to the low-temperature washing cycle.

2. Whatever the Weather

As you probably already know from at least one wet walk to work this week, the UK weather isn’t the best. We certainly can’t rely on the sun to come out when it’s the doomsday of washing and drying clothes, especially during Autumn and Winter (and most probably Spring and Summer too). When it’s pouring rain outside, all you want to do is cosy up on the sofa, watch a movie and grab a cuppa. However, it’s not so appealing when washing is hung on every nook, hook and cranny.

Whilst we highly recommend utilising the rare sunny days to get that line dry freshness, a tumble dryer can help for those more regular dreary days. There isn’t the panic of bringing the washing in and out between showers and no preplanning needed for clothes that may take much longer to dry. Plus, if you have a tumble dryer, its heat makes a rainy movie day much cosier.

3. Quick!

This leads us to the next reason you need a tumble dryer, especially if you have kids. If you need to dry something quickly and you don’t have a dryer, you’re not in for much luck. Undoubtedly, there will always be the impromptu need for clean clothes for parties and outings, which you get told about at the last minute. So put down the hairdryer and avoid ironing clothes wet with the help of your reliable tumble dryer.

Even if you don’t have kids, off on a night out? Meal with the family? What if you want to wear that one top, but it’s wet? Again, if you trust the clothes maid and the air to dry quickly, it won’t happen. If you need to dry any clothes in minimal time, then a tumble dryer will be your best friend!

4. Don’t Have a Garden?

For those living in an apartment block, city centre flat or any living space without outdoor space, doing the simple task of laundry can become difficult. We would all love to have a garden and an outdoor space to kick back, relax, have a drink, BBQ, and hang our washing out (weather permitting) ─ but sometimes, it’s just not possible. Whilst many apartments may offer a helpful balcony to offer space for your clothes airer, it isn’t always practical.

There are ample tumble dryers which offer compact space-saving solutions. So, no matter how big or small your home is, there could always be space for a tumble dryer to save the laundrette aesthetic to your apartment.

5. Money, Money, Money

Some people resort to not investing in a tumble dryer and stick to the clothes maid next to the radiator all because they believe it will be too expensive. However, the likes of our cheap tumble dryers can also mean you don’t need to pay a lot for a solution to drying your or your family’s clothes. In fact, a heat pump tumble dryer can save you money, and with newer technology, the costs are continually plummeting.

On the other hand, you could choose the use your central heating instead. However, this is most likely much more expensive than putting your dryer on for half an hour, especially when looking to dry your clothes on a rainy summer’s day. Save heating the entire house and just the clothes you want to dry with our incredible range of tumble dryers—the average load of tumble drying costs around 30pence per load. This probably doesn’t seem too much compared to your gas bill, right?
